You can not log on because  the method you are using is not allowed on this computer. Please see your network administrator for more detail
I manage a network that consists of a Windows server 2008 R2 with AD & a Windows server 2008 enterprise server configured as a member server. There are about 20 XP Pro clients pc's all of which work fine. My issue began after I joined a Windows 7 Pro pc to the domain. This was successful & I can see the computer account on the AD server. The issue is when I try to logon to the domain, I receive the error "You can not log on because the method you are using is not allowed on this computer. Please see your network administrator for more detail " The same user can successfully logon to the domain on any XP Pro client so his group membership must be correct. There is no firewall or antivirus software yet configured on the Windows 7 laptop & if I assign the user "Domain Admin" membership, he can logon to the domain. Please assist Regards, Scott

Hi James, I saw this post yesterday & checked all of the settings, but I could not understand how the solution was applicable to my situation. The user can logon to the domain using an XP Pro PC. Does this not confirm that the Policies are correct for this user. Then again, why can the user logon with elevated privileges? It must be an issue with communication between Windows 7 & the domain that is not occurring on the XP Pro PC.Regards, Scott

I have now solved this issue. I do not know what caused it but I simply removed the client from the domain & joined the domain again.Regards, Scott
